Hi everyone,
I’m Thomas Pasquali, a first-year Ph.D. student at the University of Trento (Italy), where I also earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science. Towards the end of my Master’s, I developed a strong interest in High-Performance Computing (HPC), which led me to start my Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Vella.
I’m passionate about finding ways to make algorithms run faster and scale more efficiently on modern supercomputers, from single GPUs to massive multi-node systems. My research often combines sparse and dense linear algebra, graph processing, and emerging technologies like RISC-V, with the goal of pushing the limits of performance and portability in scientific computing and machine learning.
When I’m not behind my laptop wrestling with Segmentation Faults or fine-tuning the aesthetic side of my work, you’ll probably find me walking my dog, hiking, climbing, or playing darts with friends.
I feel lucky to consider my work one of my greatest passions, and I’m always happy to share it with anyone who’s curious. If you have questions, ideas, or just want to chat, don’t hesitate to reach out.
